SWPPP Construction Site Signage — NMR100000 Posting Requirements

SWPPP regulations require specific signage at every active construction site. Under NMR100000 Part II.B, your NOI must be posted at the site entrance before ground disturbance begins. Missing required signage is a permit violation. Inspections Plus provides standard and custom SWPPP signage packages.

Required SWPPP Signage — NMR100000 Part II.B

The following signs must be posted at the site entrance before and during active construction. The first four are regulatory requirements under NMR100000; the last two are best practices commonly required by project owners and GC corporate standards:

NOI Posting Notice

RequiredNMR100000 Part II.B.1

Notice that the NOI has been submitted and/or the NOI acknowledgment number. Must be posted at the construction site entrance before ground disturbance. After acknowledgment is received, the permit coverage number replaces the submission notice.

Permit Coverage Number

RequiredNMR100000 Part II.B.2

The EPA-issued permit coverage number from the NOI acknowledgment. Updated on the sign when the number is received. Under NMPDES transition, will be the state-issued permit number.

Emergency Contact Information

RequiredNMR100000 Part II.B.3

Name and 24-hour phone number of the local responsible party — the operator's on-site emergency contact. Must be current — update if the contact changes during the project.

SWPPP Availability Notice

RequiredNMR100000 Part II.B.4

Notice that the SWPPP is available for review at the site. Includes a contact number for requesting review. The SWPPP must be maintained at the site in accessible condition.

Inspector Name and Contact

Best PracticeBest practice / client standard

Name and contact information for the SWPPP inspector of record. Not explicitly required by NMR100000 text but required by many GC and owner corporate standards, and helpful for subcontractor BMP compliance.

SWPPP Effective Date and Amendment Log

Best PracticeBest practice

Date the SWPPP was prepared and list of amendment dates. Provides at-a-glance documentation currency for inspectors and regulators visiting the site.

Under NMPDES Transition: Once NMED adopts and issues NMPDES permits, signage requirements will include the state-issued NMPDES permit number in addition to or instead of the EPA NeT acknowledgment number. Inspections Plus will update all active client signage packages at no charge when the transition occurs.
